Recent sales include numerous orders for T 282 B Ultra Class Trucks

Within the last six months Liebherr has received orders for 37 more of their Ultra Class T 282 B trucks. The Liebherr T 282 B AC drive, diesel electric truck mining truck provides payload of up to 400 short tonnes (360 metric tonnes) and is equipped with MTU/DDC 20V4000 diesel engines rated at 3650 hp/2722 kW, the most powerful engine available today, and Michelin 56/80R63 low profile tires.

In June 2006, ASARCO Ray has placed an order for nine Liebherr  T 282 B’s. The first trucks are scheduled for delivery in early 2007. Located approximately sixty miles southeast of Phoenix, Arizona, the Ray Operation consists of a 250,000 ton per day open pit mine with a 30,000 ton/day concentrator, a 103 million pound/year solvent extraction-electro winning operation with associated maintenance and administrative support infrastructure.

In December 2005 Syncrude-Canada, Ltd., Ft McMurray, Canada placed an additional order in for twelve more T 282 B’s bringing their fleet total to 27. The trucks are utilized for transport of overburden and oil sand. Syncrude Project is a joint venture among several major global oil and gas companies and was initiated for the purpose of producing crude oil and other substances from the mining and processing of oil sands.

Cortez Joint Venture gold mine, in northeastern Nevada, purchased sixteen more T 282 B’s in late November which are due to be delivered throughout 2006-2007. These trucks join the eight trucks that were originally purchased in 2004, bringing the total fleet to 24 after the new deliveries are completed.
