Bavarian Premier Beckstein visits Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH
On the occasion of his first official visit as Prime Minister of Bavaria to the Oberallgäu, Dr. Günther Beckstein visited the works of Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH in Kempten on 26 January.
The Prime Minister was welcomed by Dr. h.c. Dipl.-Ing. (ETH) Willi Liebherr. The delegation included the parliamentary secretary of state for the Federal Ministry of Agriculture Dr. Gerhard Müller MP, the Oberallgäu district administrator Gebhard Kaiser and the mayor of Kempten, Dr. Ulrich Netzer.
Liebherr develops and manufactures gear cutting machines and materials handling equipment in Kempten. Mr. Beckstein was particularly interested in the presentation of the training concept at this location. A total of 61 of Liebherr's 848 current employees in Kempten are trainees. Mr. Beckstein was impressed by this "exceptionally high trainee rate".
