Willi Liebherr received by President of the Republic of Mongolia
Dr. h.c. Dipl.-Ing. (ETH) Willi Liebherr, a member of the family that owns the Liebherr Group, recently visited the Republic of Mongolia and had a meeting in Ulan Bator with the Head of State, President Nambaryn Enchbajar.
More intensive cooperation between the Liebherr Group and the Mongolian mining industry was discussed at this meeting. One of the principal current activities is the Tavan Tolgoi project, which is planned to yield 15 million tons of high-grade coal annually. Reserves of coal in this area of the Gobi Desert are estimated to exceed 6 billion metric tons.
The Republic of Mongolia is an important sales market for Liebherr mining equipment. A fleet of ultra-modern large Liebherr hydraulic excavators is already in operation there.
