In the transportation technology area, Liebherr is a leading manufacturer of equipment for rail vehicles. Its product programme includes conventional and forced-convection air conditioning systems,hydraulic suspension controls, systems to prevent jack-knifing, special shock absorbers and vehicle tilting systems.

Purpose-designed systems are operating successfully in high-speed trains, other main-line trains, streetcars and other rail vehicles.
